In the story Caminar by skila brown and the story white rose by kip wilson there are a lot of differences and similarities, for example Carlos wants to fight and don’t go to school while Sophie wants to go school and have a career or both do not agree with the army and both of them fight for their country. Even with different lives they have similar motivations. However Carlos wants to fight and don’t go school and Sophie wants to go school and have a career equal to his brother who is almost graduating in medicine. So white rose are a based in real story of sophie, she is a germany girl that lives in nazi time when are red flags in all the country, and in the book Caminar Carlos are living a rebel war when the militaries are killing everybody searching for communists in the country.
In difference of Carlos and Sophie, Carlos did not care much about school even the book saying that he move house only for school and better life and his mother saying he go school, he didn’t care too much and wants to harvest plantations or enter in some group for fight and protect the village like he said in the start of the story, while Sophie is a study girl that are moving to university with his brother, but she spread posters against hitler regime all around the university and in that time nazi flags are all in the world, so she was captured, and in the book shows before and after she was captured, so the book shows all his story until she spread the posters and been captured and shows she and his brother captured and interrogated asking she questions like who are part of the rebelion or why she did that.
Similar to the other character Sophie did not agree with the army, just like I said before Sophie dont agree with hitler ideals and spread posters against him in the university, and Carlos first agree with the army because he was seeing the communists like the villains, but after the army kill him neighbors he see that the army was trying to kill communists and eventually killing villagers because they don’t know who of them are rebels, so he start to think that the army are the villans and before he meet with some communists and he see that they are not bad, even the communists are the cause of they killing the people he thinks that the army get a stupid strategy that over with many lifes, and in the book Cminar shows that the army that are the villans in this event, the story shows us the army killing inocent people and killing families womans and childs that do not has any relationship with this rebel war.
Both of them wants to fight for they country too, Carlos even wanting to fight,he has fear to die but he want to protect him family so he did not give up after him running into the forest he get together with some rebels and promise himself that he gonna protect him family, and sophie even some people of the country don’t agree with hitler they has fear to get against him, but sophie spread posters and get against him and make like a rebellion to protect his country and both are against the ideals of a leader for example Carlos are against the dictator of Guatemala, efrain rios montt, and Sophie are against hitler that are the leader of some country in that time, so both are against some powerful guy too, and in the story White rose shows that Sophie are not the pattern girl of germany like the girls with blonde hair and blue eyes that support hitler, and in the book says that she wants to be herself the most she can and have her self ideals
So they have similarities like fight for they country or do not agree with the army and differences like the thinking about school, basically they think they need to fight for what is right, so if you have an ideal or a thing that you think that is right fight for this and has courage to make this real or at least try to be yourself and get good results or what you want with that.
